Property Information
This house was built in 1928 and does have some quirks we’d like you to be aware of:
⦁ The taps in the showers need to be shut off completely or they keep running
⦁ There are new windows and doors on the first floor that have very fine screens. Please don’t let your animals near them or they may rip them unintentionally
⦁ The refrigerator ice maker cannot be fixed and therefore, does not make ice
⦁ Heating system – the first floor control is on the wall of the dining room and the second floor control is on the wall outside and across from the bathroom
⦁ The screen of all of the old windows are temperamental but work fine if you take your time
BEACH: The beach is part of the Crescent Beach Association. The park and beach areas are for the exclusive use of members of the association, their tenants and guests.
TV/DVD: There is a TV with an Amazon Firestick. You can sign onto Netflix or Disney etc. if you have an account.
Here are some notes on operating the television and connected devices:
⦁ To operate the television, use the Bell remote. Power on/off is in the top right corner. Mute is top left. This remote controls television volume. The "Guide" button will bring up the channel listings, and you can navigate through the channels using the up/down arrows. We currently have a basic television channel package.
⦁ The Samsung remote is needed to allow other devices (DVD player and Amazon Fire Stick) to operate. The only button on this remote that is important is the SOURCE button on the top right of the remote. Press it to toggle through different inputs (i.e., TV, Amazon, DVD). The television (Bell) is HDMI1. Amazon Firestick is HDMI2.
⦁ If you press the SOURCE button once on the Samsung remote, Amazon Firestick will automatically come on. You can then use the Amazon remote to set up a profile, navigate and download Apps.
⦁ For the DVD, you must power the DVD 'on' before using the SOURCE button on the Samsung remote to connect the DVD player to the television. The LG DVD player remote can then be used to operate the DVD.
AIR CONDITIONING: There is air conditioning on the second floor only. The thermostat to control it is also on the second floor.
OVEN: The convention feature on the oven is NOT operational at this time. Sorry for any inconvenience.
PATIO DOORS: To lock/unlock the two patio doors (portico side and lake side) - the handles need to be turned up and the lock turned clockwise to lock and counter clockwise to unlock.
BBQ: The BBQs run on propane. We endeavour to maintain the propane. However, the propane tank may not have fuel left from a previous guest. If you find there is no more propane, please take the tank to the local gas station for filling. Once done, send us a copy of the receipt and we will reimburse you.
We are happy to loan you our BBQ. Please scraped/brushed off all grills and any large amount of food or grease that may have fallen beneath during your stay.
PARKING: Parking is available for up to six (6) cars. No street parking is allowed.
FUSE/BREAKER PANEL: The panel is located in the basement laundry room.
HOSE: Please note that the hose by the air conditioning unit does not work.
SMOKING: Our home is a non-smoking home with includes cigarettes, cannabis and vaping. Due to possible allergies of future vacationers, we ask you please smoke/vape outside of the property and ensure you clean up all debris and paraphernalia. If we find there was smoking or vaping of any substance inside the property during your stay, there will be an additional $250 clean up fee.
PETS: As long as you have been given approval, your furry friends are welcome to stay. Please make sure to clean up after your pet. If there are any pet messes left there will be an additional $100 charge. Also, all dogs must be leased or under supervision at all times while on the beach.
Even though this is a pet friendly home, if you have brought a pet without approval, you will be asked to leave, forfeiting all monies paid and you will be charged an additional $500 plus any applicable taxes. In the event we are notified of an unauthorized pet after your departure the $500 plus applicable taxes will apply.
