Property Information
PARKING: Parking is available for up to two (2) cars. Please park your vehicle in the space opposite to the garage in a manner that will allow traffic flow up/down the paved hill.
FUSE BOX/BREAKER PANEL: If you are experiencing electrical issues i.e. fuses, please contact 1-855-300-4476.
SMOKING: Our home is a non-smoking which includes cigarettes, cannabis and vaping. Due to possible allergies of future vacationers, we ask you please smoke/vape outside of the property and ensure you clean up all debris and paraphernalia. If we find there was smoking or vaping of any substance inside the property during your stay, there will be an additional $250 clean up fee.
PETS: This is NOT a pet friendly home. I you have brought a pet without approval, you will be asked to leave, forfeiting all monies paid and you will be charged an additional $500 plus any applicable taxes. In the event we are notified of an unauthorized pet after your departure the $500 plus applicable taxes will apply.
TV: The television is equipped with a Roku box allowing you to watch various free channels or log into your own accounts of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV and such.
Operation: Turn on TV and control volume with TV remote. Roku is on immediately. Use the Roku remote to navigate and select channels. Use the TV remote to set the TV signal input setting to HDMI if needed.
A DVD player is provided with a few movies. To use, carefully unplug the HDMI cable in the back of the TV set from the Roku box and connect HDMI cable from DVD player and use the DVD remote control. Use the TV remote to set signal input setting on the TV to HDMI if needed.
BBQ: The BBQ runs on propane. We endeavour to maintain the propane. However, the propane tank may not have fuel left from a previous guest. If you find there is no more propane, please take the tank to the local gas station for filling. Once done, send us a copy of the receipt and we will reimburse you. We are happy to loan you our BBQ. Please scraped/brushed off all grills and any large amount of food or grease that may have fallen beneath during your stay.
If you swapped out the propane tank, please let us know so we can refill the empty one for the next guest.
WATER & SEPTIC SYSTEM: The Coach House is on a septic system. Please refrain from putting large amounts of toilet paper into the toilet as a septic system is very delicate. Also, ALL feminine products, diapers, baby wipes etc. MUST be disposed of in the garbage and not the toilet.
Water in the Coach House is drawn from a cistern which is filled with a limited volume of potable city water. Please use this limited resource conservatively (ie long showers are discouraged) as new water delivery will take a day.
Liquid waste is treated via a septic system. Please use toilet paper sparingly and do not flush baby wipes, feminine hygiene, prophylactics, sanitary or other non-biodegradable products.
Please do not dispose food wastes down the sink. Please do not pour greases down the sink or in the woods. Pour liquid grease in sealable container jars (under sink) and carefully dispose with your trash. Wipe remaining grease out of pans with paper towels and dispose before washing.
FIRE PIT & BEACH: Dig out a 12 inch/30cm deep fire pit in the sand anywhere you wish far from the wooden staircase. Enjoy your campfire and when done, let it burn out by itself. Next day, simply cover any ashes with sand. Firewood can be gathered around the property as driftwood, fallen trees or branches in the yard or forest. It may also be purchased from nearby roadside vendors. You are not allowed to fell any trees, dead or alive, on the property.
SPACES ON THE PROPERTY
Travel to and from the beach from the Coach House is via your private path to the left of the main cottage, (between neighbor) then to the beach overlook deck and stairs. Please do not use the private areas to the west side of the main residence (driveway side) for your travel to and from the beach.
Root Beer Creek is private property shared with the neighbour across. It provides additional beach access without needing to cross the elevated bluff via a sandy path along the stone wall. It is useful to bring kayaks, paddle boards and other awkward beach items directly to the beach with relative ease. Be careful, access is over a few large boulders by the parking area.
BEACH AND PLAY AREAS:
Bring back and dispose all garbage from the beach. Never feed the wildlife or leave food items outside. While maybe cute, racoons, foxes, squirrels, and skunks are curious, hungry, thieving and destructive creatures we do not want to habituate to our environment.
The beach is private to this water lot property and is 115ft/35m wide extending ~200ft / 70m into Lake Erie and ~200ft /60m back to the bluff. The beach is soft sand. While people are free to walk the beach, you should expel any rare outsiders who may want to use this private beach more than transiently.
Enjoy the beach overlook deck and furniture by the flagpole. Seat cushions should be used on the softer chairs and stored in the deck box. For your safety, do not venture on the beach or the overlook deck during pending thunderstorms.
The backyard is a large flat open space and includes a dense forested area. It is a great space for wildlife observation, playing bocce, football, croquet, frisbee, tag, and other activities particularly when seeking cool shade in mid-day heat.
