FUSE BOX/BREAKER PANEL: The panel is located in the utility closet off of driveway side door and there is also one in the attic.
SMOKING: Our home is a non-smoking which includes cigarettes, cannabis and vaping. Due to possible allergies of future vacationers, we ask you please smoke/vape outside of the property and ensure you clean up all debris and paraphernalia. If we find there was smoking or vaping of any substance inside the property during your stay, there will be an additional $250 clean up fee.
PETS: This home is a pet-free home. If you have brought a pet without approval, you will be asked to leave, forfeiting all monies paid and you will be charged an additional $500 plus any applicable taxes. In the event we are notified of an unauthorized pet after your departure the $500 plus applicable taxes will apply.

The living room and lakefront rooms have Roku Smart TV’s.
Living room TV: The remote for the TV has some red on it.

The black remote is for Amazon Fire Tv, one of the HDMI connections.
The queen room has an Amazon Fire stick.
With your own account information you will be able to use common apps like but not limited to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and certain cable providers.
GAS FIREPLACE: The gas fireplace thermostat is located on the wall by the dining room light switch.
To turn the fireplace “on”, you will note on the right side of the thermostat the “on” or “off” setting. Move the lever to “on”, then turn the dial to the desired Fahrenheit temperature. The fireplace will automatically ignite and begin to operate.
To turn the fireplace off, repeat the steps in reverse, lower the temperature and move the side lever to the “off” position.
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the fireplace is returned to the “off” setting when not in use.
CEILING FANS AND LIGHTS: A black remote control is located on the wall in each room that includes a ceiling fan with a light. This allows the use of the fan or light separately. The remote control becomes functional when the room light switch is in the “on” position.
The light bulb symbol operates the light. Below the light bulb symbol is the symbol for the fan.
BBQ: The BBQ runs on propane. We endeavour to maintain the propane. However, the propane tank may not have fuel left from a previous guest. If you find there is no more propane, please take the tank to the local gas station for filling. Once done, send us a copy of the receipt and we will reimburse you.
Please scrape/brush off all grills and any large amounts of food or grease that may have fallen beneath during your stay.
Once you have selected the burner you would like to use, depress the knob and turn slightly to the “LITE” setting, you will notice a clicking sound, the burner should ignite it and you can move the knob to the appropriate heat level.
To turn the burner off, turn dial counter-clockwise back past the LITE setting.
On the upper panel of the stove:
Set desired temperature using the up or down arrows, then
Press “Bake” again.
After a small delay the oven will ignite and heat to the desired temperature
To turn the oven off, press “cancel”
AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING:
This cottage has ductless units for air conditioning and heat.
Remote controls are included on the wall near the light switch in each room that has a unit. The unit on the main floor can direct the flow of air in two directions. Other units do not include this feature.
When adjusting settings you will note there is a delay in response before the change is evident in the wall unit. Please pause for each setting to take effect.
On the face of the remote control is the coloured Power button. Included are up and down arrows to raise or lower the temperature. Below the display screen the outside of the remote control will slide open to access more settings for fan speed, air conditioning, heat, or dehumidify settings.
The fan speeds have a whisper mode for a quiet operation of the unit. Increase the fan speed as desired for stronger cold/warm air.
Manuals are included to assist you in operating the remote control for more efficient use of the units.
View the images below regarding settings.
In the winter in particular, we kindly ask that you leave the heat ON when you leave so nothing freezes. A temperature in the low 60’s will suffice. Thank you.
Directly in front of the cottage is your access to the private beach on Lake Erie. Each property along this stretch of Fort Erie has its own private beach. There are many residents on Edgemere Road who have their permanent home here, including neighbours on either immediate side of the property. In view of this we ask that you enjoy the private beach directly in front of 925 Edgemere only. Shore walking (along the waterline) is permissible but use of other private beaches in the neighbourhood is not allowed. Do not set up your beach chairs or towels in front of other properties.
If you require additional space, Waverly Beach is a small public beach near the cottage with access at 271 Helena Street approximately two blocks from this cottage.
Some of the other public beaches in the area:
Crystal Beach Waterfront Park
Bay Beach (Crystal Beach)
Just google for surrounding beaches to find one that would suit your needs
PADDLE BOARDS & KAYAKS:
A paddle boat and kayaks are available for your use at your own risk. Life jackets are included in the closet by the roadside entry. We accept no liability for your use of these items, and if you use them, you use them at your own risk.
If you use either of these items, please return them to the storage area at the end of the day, and bring paddles back up to the porch (this prevents theft).
Some information about Lake Erie:
⦁ This area was a thriving area in past times between Buffalo and Fort Erie. In view of this you will notice there is left over concrete from past piers etc. This area can be naturally rocky so the use of water shoes is recommended. There are many suitable swimming areas we thought it best you be aware.
⦁ Of the great lakes it is the most southern, shallow and smallest by water volume of the Great Lakes. It is the fourth largest of the Great Lakes in surface area.
⦁ Upon entering the water, you will notice that the water is very shallow for an extended area which makes it ideal for young families. Since it is shallow it is also warmer than the other lakes. The lake is generally clear.
Check out is at 10:00 am on your scheduled departure date. Unless you have paid for and/or made specific arrangements for a late departure, please do not extend your stay. Housekeeping will arrive shortly after your departure and is on a tight timeline to prepare the home for our next guests. This could result in an extra charge of $50/half hour.
We greatly appreciate your assistance and cooperation!
